The Importance of Automation

“Automation: the technique, method, or system of operating or controlling a process by highly automatic means, as by electronic devices, reducing human intervention to a minimum.”

Why do we need automation?
Let me ask you another question. . . Why do we need to breathe?
At this point, you say to yourself “Because it’s required to keep living and I don’t want to die!”

Ok, fair point. What if I were to tell you that automation is just as essential to small businesses as breathing is to the human body?

Well, guess what? It is.

If you want to succeed as a small business, if you want to keep breathing as an entrepreneur, then automation is critical.

But what is it?

It’s taking the 5000 little things you do manually every day and finding a better way. It’s not having to remember the names of 20 different clients scribbled on 20 different scraps of paper that all need to be called tomorrow. It’s being secure in the knowledge that your existing clients are being educated and nurtured while you have the freedom to do what you do best and grow your business. It’s never having to worry about forgetting to send out that all important birthday greeting to your much-loved client because you already scheduled it, and you even found the perfect picture of the perfect cupcake to go with it. It’s more minutes in the day to get things done while creating an ecosystem of care for your clients. It’s no more dropping the ball; when before you didn’t know there was a ball let alone where to find it! In short: Automation = More Time.

This is the law of the brave new world of Small Business: Automate or Die.

Harsh, but true. Fortunately, there are tons of easily implemented automation solutions out there. All you have to do is pick one and get started.

But where could you possibly find someone to help you pick the right one for you?

Oh, right! That’s where I come in. 😉

Until next time,

Phly
